This paper presents preliminary experimental results on passive multistatic SAR exploiting navigation satellites as transmitters of opportunity and a stationary receiver. The inherent multistatic structure of GNSS constellation is exploited to define a passive multistatic radar imaging system. Experimental results are shown proving the capability and problems of such a system of forming multistatic SAR images exploiting the signals transmitted by multiple, spatially separated GNSS satellites that may considerably increase the amount of the information for a given scene. © 2014 EuMA
