The zoning patterns of crystals are a valuable tool to reconstructs processes occurred in a magmatic system prior to eruption. In particular detailed analyses of the mineral zoning and modeling based on chemical diffusion laws allows to determinate the durations of magmatic processes, providing important constraints for volcanic hazard of active volcanoes, such as the Campi Flegrei (Southern Italy) caldera. The Agnano Monte Spina eruption (A-MS; 4.7 ka; VEI = 4; 0.85 km3 D.R.E), the highest magnitude recent event in this area, produced pyroclastic deposits with variable 87Sr/86Sr and trace elements, suggesting magma mixing between two evolved end-members.
