Transformational Leadership to Organizational Commitment; Psychological Empowerment as a Mediating Variable Kepemimpinan Transformasional Pada Komitmen Organisasional; Pemberdayaan Psikologis Sebagai Variabel Pemediasian

The purpose of this research is to examine the relationship betweentransformational leadership and organizational commitment (affective, normative,and continuance commitment), psychological empowerment as a mediating variable.Variables in this research were measured via a survey of 193 production employeeof garment company Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta and Jawa Tengah. StructuralEquation Modeling (SEM) were used to examine the effects of transformationalleadership on organizational commitment. Results showed that the estimated modelin this research is acceptable based on the goodness of fit index. The structuralrelationship showed that transformational leadership significantly related toaffective and normative commitment, but no significant relationship existed withcontinuance commitment. It also showed that psychological empowerment partiallymediated the relationship between transformational leadership and affectiveand normative commitment. In addition, this research found that psychologicalempowerment not mediated the relationship between transformational leadershipand continuance commitment.
