The Center for Information Technology Integration has undertaken a study of the potential impact of PeopleSoft software on U-M production computing environments, focusing on the measurement and modeling of the Peoplesoft 6 architecture in order to provide results useful in sizing various components of the M-Pathways campus deployment. We have constructed a closed queueing network model of the two-tiered deployment architecture and evaluated the model using mean-value analysis. We also built a testbed and a database exerciser at CITI that were used to measure model parameters and perform model validation.
