M.Ing.The principle of the laser sintering process as applied to stainless steel powder for rapid prototyping is discussed. This work attempts to present and explain the process-modelling concept with respect to potential analytical and empirical relationships between the input and output parameters. It considers aspects related to process behavior, material characteristics, laser parameters and product accuracy. A comprehensive experimental set- up with empirical results is presented
