Die verhouding tussen die waardes en gedrag by Christenlidmate van die NG Kerk in Johannesburg

M.Phil.The secondary aim of this study was to assess what are the perceptions of members of the Dutch Reformed Church in Johannesburg concerning their values. They were asked to define the concept values. It was also researched if they differentiate between core values, universal values and values in general. The basis of their values was disclosed. It was also researched if they are aware about what matters most in their lives. The primary aim of this study was to research the influence of core values on their lives as Christians. It was assumed that they may experience a dissonance between their convictions and their conduct. If this were to be true, what influence could the experience of such a dissonance have on their lives? Personal Interpersonal and Professional Leadership (PPL) has a holistic approach. A broad perspective illuminates the impact of a possible dissonance on the lives of members of the Dutch Reformed Church in Johannesburg. A qualitative research design was followed. Focus groups shared their views in this matter. The data were collected, compiled and analyzed. Recommedations how to address this phenomenon from the Personal Interpersonal and Professional Leadership approach were suggested, since the existence of an assumed dissonance was confirmed by the data
