This work was designed to assess whether children signalled their feelings towards drawings topics through the use of colour. The work was based on the paradigm utilised in the above study. To unite previously disparate strands of enquiry, children's selection of colours to convey affect in relation to their colour preferences was assessed. This work showed that interpretations of children's feelings towards certain topics based on colour use should take into account children's colour preferences and not make one-to-one associations of certain colours with certain feelings as was often recommended in professional literature
