Days at the Factories and CuSO4 synthesise sounds from the factory. The layering of time upon the industrial space manifests itself within the rhythmic tones, and noises that echo throughout the factory. These become amplified through the antiquated machinery that somehow manages to keep on chugging away day and night. The atmospheric noises create an eerie space that somehow manages to conjure up the souls of all the workers who have toiled away in the factory over the past 175 years. Collaboration with a music producer results in a more refined melodic and musical interpretation of these sounds. Workers from the factory have also contributed to the audio as they have been recorded reciting a text conceived by Chris Coekin. The result is a layering of spoken word on the track Days at the Factories. The vinyl record was chosen as the final output for the audio as its manufacturing process hasn't really changed since its invention and it still relies upon an industrial process.
