34 paintings that set out to achieve visual equivalences of the multilayered narratives of Schubert’s Winterreise and John Clare’s Journey out of Essex, with the aim of developing the liminal, fictive territory that can be seen to exist in and between them. Work was exhibited at Eagle Gallery, London (I Came Here a Stranger) and Campden Gallery, Gloucestershire (As a Stranger I Depart). One of the paintings is now in the collection of the Jerwood Foundation, London. Two other paintings were procured for The Hive, Worcester’s art collection by WLHC ProjectCo.
