In this thesis, we present investigations on the cooperative dynamics of (ultra)cold atoms coupled to the electromagnetic field in vacuum. The main objective is to identify the consequences of the quantization of the atomic center-of-mass motion on the atoms-field dynamics, more particularly the atomic \emph{internal} dynamics including dipole-dipole interactions and cooperative spontaneous emission processes. For this purpose, we derive a Markovian master equation for the internal state of a collection of two-level atoms coupled to vacuum accounting for all effects related to the quantization of their motion.
