Sculptures with inscriptions from Kültepe, ancient city of Asia Minor that was important trade station on Assyrian border and center of Kaneshite branch of the Hittites. The site was significant for being the first city founded by the Hittites in Anatolia and is one of the world’s most famous open-air museums. The site is about 500 meters in diameter and about 2 meters high. Thousands of tablets dating to the 2nd millennium BC have been discovered here.
