In distance learning, we are now able to use learning models based on constructivism and collaborative theories. We first give a survey of common asynchronous communication tools and of their limits. We try to define what we consider as the best suitable training situation in order to emphasize the current problems of implementation of such a situation with the existing tools. A new tool named " CUMULI " is then proposed to face some of that difficulties. We are currently developing this tool and present some specifications in this paper.
