The book is based upon papers presented at the MC ICAM conference on Acceptability of Transport Pricing Strategies, held in Dresden, 23-24 May, 2002.This paper draws an analytical framework from a theoretical approach of acceptability and applies it to the assessment of acceptability of a series of ongoing road pricing schemes. In the first section authors will elaborate the theoretical framework of acceptability based on an application of the Rawlsian theory of justice in the area of mobility and transport services. In the second section, we will apply this framework to some successful and some failed to tolling schemes in urban areas.
