International audienceThe Jamhara is an anthology made up of seven collections of archaic poetry, each containing seven poems. This work has been attributed to a certain Abû Zayd al-Qurashî and dated around the end of the 3rd/9th century, though it might well date back to the 4th/10th century. The first septuplet, entitled Mu‘allaqât but referred to as Sumût' in the text itself, provides a different version of the Seven odes: instead of the poems by ‘Antara b. Shaddâd and al-H'ârith b. H'illiza, we find two poems by al-Nâbigha al-Dhubyânî and al-A‘shâ Maymûn.
