Introducción a la lectura geográfica de un hinterland portuario : El ejemplo de Barcelona

International audienceThe old notion of port hinterland is being revised and modified in a contemporary context marked by the widespread development of the containerization and the globalization of practices of the big private operators in transport and logistics. From commercial argument of port authorities, to scientific speeches and to real practices, it is difficult to identify and to represent the spatial logics that participate to the composition of port hinterlands. This text on the port of Barcelona, seeks to contribute to a better reading of the rupture or of the continuity that marks the process of landside access of the ports. This contribution leans on in a methodological tenptative of cartographic representation that crosses different indicators able to visualize the composition of the hinterlands. Testing the hypothesis of the importance of the hinterland of vicinity for the growth of the port traffic, this "essai" constitutes the framework for further extensions to other ports.La ya antigua noción de hinterland portuario está siendo sometida a revisión en un contexto contemporáneo marcado por el desarrollo generalizado de la contenerización y por la globalización de las prácticas de los grandes operadores privados del transporte y de la logística. Entre los argumentos comerciales de autoridades portuarias, los discursos científicos y la verdadera localización de los clientes, es difícil hacerse una idea de la estructura de estos espacios portuarios. El texto que aquí presentamos sobre el puerto de Barcelona pretende facilitar la comprensión de la organización de los hinterlands, a partir de un ejercicio de representación que combina diferentes indicadores, que consideramos útiles para tratar de visualizar su composición. Comprobando la importancia del hinterland de proximidad en el crecimiento del tráfico de un puerto, este texto constituye la base de un trabajo que deberá ser extendido a las situaciones de otros puertos
