International audienceWhistled Turkish is one of the best-preserved whistled forms of languages. The frequency distribution of whistled vowels and the modulations that characterize the whistled consonants are here analyzed. Their articulatory origin is also explained. Moreover, this study provides a detailed insight of the phenomenon of adaptation of whistled speech to the phonology of a given language
