International audienceThis article is the first step of a most ambitious work on the neolithisation processes of the Northern Italy. It was realised with a post-doctoral grant of the Fyssen Foundation. The author explains first his methodology for the technical and typological analysis of stone tools industries. Then, we are most concerned with the Gaban rock-shelter, especially about layers of the Late Mesolithic and Early Neolithic, in order to understand the kinds of interactions between both of them. At last, there are not evidences of continuous occupations, although lithics industries show undeniable similarities. The author proposes three hypothesis to explain this phenomenon
