Identité, catégorisation socio-spatiale et mobilité : être urbain et se penser rural ?

National audienceThe urban - rural duality was widely criticized and relativized by contemporary social sciences. Nevertheless, these spatial categories always irrigate the common knowledge of populations. Indeed, they can be used by people in the representation of themselves with regard to the other and to the society. Our project is to analyze the role of the spatial categories in the identity construction. More particularly, we shall study a population which is recently living in the Haute Lande (Aquitaine) and which is involved in alternated migrations towards the metropolized area of Bordeaux.La dualité urbain – rural a largement été critiquée et relativisée dans les sciences sociales. Pourtant, ces catégories spatiales irriguent toujours le savoir commun des populations. En effet, c'est à elles que les individus se réfèrent dans une représentation de soi par rapport à l'autre et à la société. Notre projet est d'analyser le rôle des catégories spatiales dans la construction identitaire. Plus particulièrement, nous étudierons une population nouvellement rurale vivant dans la Haute Lande (Aquitaine) et inscrite dans des migrations pendulaires lointaines vers l'agglomération bordelaise
