International audienceIn the analysis of the "success stories" of technocities too little at¬tention so far was paid to the logic of actors behaviour in their attempt to bypass the constraints of the mass production systems by strate¬gies combining organizational change and agglomeration economies. Technocities in this perspective appear as instruments of implementing high technology firms networks as means of managing irreversibilities in the process of technical creation and spatial polarisation.
