National audienceIn this exploratory study we have examined the way foreign students who visit France for a limited period of time perceive note taking activities of their fellow French students. We have also examined how this perception can influence their note-taking activities. Some foreign students conceive the note-taking practice of their French counterparts as a smooth and collective activity which is, as such, rather distinct from what they think of their own practice. And because of this positive feeling, these students readily adopt the French practice. But other students go through rejection or disappointment phases.
