L'agriculture dans la montagne druze (Syrie) entre clientélisme, blocages communautaires et libéralisation économique : un développement durable pour le paysans druze ?

International audienceThe Syrian countryside lives deep socio spatial transformations with the reinforcement of the process of economic liberalization in the country. Between a new class made up of new agricultural entrepreneurs and of rich landowners and a group which always benefits from advantages related to its proximity with the state networks, the small farming community appears marginalized. In addition to the traditional domination between urban wholesalers well inserted into the economic market and small producers, a cultural difference - religion - which strengthens the dichotomy, is added in the studied territory. It is through this prism which concentrates on the analysis of power struggles that we shall question the notion of durability of the socioeconomic system of the agricultural sector in the Druze mountain of Syria.Les campagnes syriennes vivent de profondes transformations socio-spatiales avec le renforcement du processus de libéralisation économique dans le pays. Entre une classe nouvelle composée de nouveaux entrepreneurs agricoles et de riches propriétaires terriens et un groupe qui bénéficie toujours d'avantages liés à sa proximité avec les réseaux étatiques, la petite paysannerie apparaît comme marginalisée. Outre la domination classique entre les grossistes urbains bien insérés dans l'économie de marché et les petits producteurs, vient s'ajouter, dans le territoire étudié, une divergence culturelle – la religion – qui renforce la dichotomie. C'est à travers ce prisme qui se concentre sur l'analyse des rapports de pouvoir que nous interrogerons la notion de durabilité du système socio-économique du secteur agricole dans la montagne druze de Syrie
