Au printemps de 1939, arrivent venant des camps du Midi, des prestataires embauchés principalement dans l'agriculture. L'occupation allemande dès juin 1940 met un terme à l'accueil dans les centres et tous doivent subvenir à leur besoins. La vie sous l'occupation et le régime de Vichy est difficile car les Espagnols qualifiés de "rouges" sont dans le collimateur de la police. A la Libération à laquelle participent des Espagnols, les partis politiques se restructurent, et pour tous priorité est donnée au retour...après la chute de Franco.
