International audienceRome, like other major European cities, was a main site of lithographic production in the Italian peninsula during the first decades of the 19th Century. The emergence of this new technique in the Pontifical capital was, however, different from that observed elsewhere in Europe, due to the limited production of lithography in the period 1800-1830. A lithography in the fonds of the Cabinet d'Estampes, stored in the French Bibliothèque Nationale, has been identified as being by the Roman painter Vincenzo Camuccini (1771-1844), produced in Munich in the workshops of Alois Senefelder in 1810.
