Located at the crossroads of the Levant and the Arabian Peninsula, Jordan occupies a special place in Islamic geography, particularly for the Salafi movement. Although Jordan is somewhat neglected in studies of the salafiyya, in the past thirty years the country has produced almost as many Salafi scholars - of all trends - as Saudi Arabia.
