International audienceThe most influential linguistic frameworks dealing with English are bound to take account of a certain number of characteristics of the language. Such frameworks have integrated a number of parameters, time and space in particular. More particularly, Construction Grammar is concerned with utterances implying moving entities located on a path, which leads the linguist to emphasize the spatio-temporal relationship. At the same time psycholinguistics has shed some light on the domain (Miller & Johnson Laird 1976), as has language acquisition linguistics (Rosch 1973 & Markman 1989, among others) and 'event structure' linguistics (from Vendler to Pustejovsky, among others).
