La valeur du temps en transport de marchandises

This PhD aims at analysing the consequences of a reduction of travel time for freight transportation. We introduce two distinctions to analyse this question. First, we distinguish specific and generic goods. Each of this goods category features a distinctive relationship with travel time. Second, we distinguish travel operations and non-travel operations (warehousing, loading, unloading, etc.). It becomes then possible to analyse the consequences of a travel time modification for a simplified economy consisting of hauliers, producers and consumers. We complement this theorical analysis with two empirical applications : first, an hedonic pricing approach, second a random parameters logit. We also investigate how our analysis leads to reconsidering the value of time for freight transportation used un Cost Benefit Analysis.Dans cette thèse, on analyse les conséquences d'une modification des durées de déplacements des marchandises sur différents agents économiques. On traite cette question en introduisant deux distinctions originales : celle entre biens génériques et biens spécifiques qui détermine un rapport au temps radicalement différent. Celle entre opérations de déplacement et opérations hors déplacement (stockage, chargement, déchargement, etc.). On peut alors analyser les conséquences d'une modification des durées de déplacement sur la base d'une économie simplifiée où sont représentés trois types d'agents économiques : des transporteurs, des producteurs et des consommateurs finaux. On complète ce traitement théorique en réalisant deux applications empiriques : tout d'abord une approche hédonique puis des modèles logit à coefficients stochastiques (RPL). On examine de quelle manière le traitement proposé amène à reconsidérer les pratiques d'évaluations utilisées par les administrations françaises
