35 pagesInternational audienceIn this article, we propose a reading of the abundant production of paraphrases of the seven penitential psalms into French verses (105 different translations identified from Marot to the late 18th century) as one of the literary models of a personal speech and the place of creation of norms of rapporting with the self. We place them in the history of secularization of the speech of intimacy, from Augustinian's origin: one's own experience is the place of God's knowledge. Thus, we demonstrate that the poetics of self which they contribute to spread out, gives the conditions for a sincere speech.
