International audienceThe question of language is always complex in the Lorraine region of France, in particular when it comes to a minor language, i.e. the Franconian language generally called "Platt" or "Platt lorrain" (Lorraine Franconian). Just like this cross-border area, which has yet to find its own/an identity - the Greater Region of Luxembourg (Saarland, Lorraine, Luxembourg, Wallonia, Palatinate) - Platt, which runs throughout this region, has not yet been the focus of regular analysis.
