International audienceOur central research question is how novice users learn to use Zoomable user interfaces when designing visual presentations. An experiment focused on how well 39 first-year Masters students in Communication Studies performed on a timed exercise, where they needed to design and produce a visual presentation on a topic based on a given scenario. Their presentations were recorded and analyzed. Results show a substantial use of the models proposed by the application, without students questioning either the imposed semantics or the design.
