National audienceWithin the region Touraine that suffered from the Wars of Religion, the small town Preuilly, housed from 1589, the reformed public worship that ministered to southern Touraine. Within a catholic domination, the 370 protestants of the early 17th century did not manage to maintain their number like many other communities of the Realm. However, the high reproduction rate, the economic and decision-making powers they had thanks to their professional activities paved the way for a promising 17th century. Moreover, until the Revocation of the Edict of Nantes, the community was hardly affected by persecution.
