International audienceAs part of a research project focused on the analysis and modeling uses of a VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) appropriation in secondary education, studying the social representation of this tool constitutes a major step. This variable provides a set of guidance able to explain and predict the behavior of the educational community member by using the tool. The results are based on the declaration of 1 483 new users and conduct a distinction between teachers, students and parents. Representation of the VLE is exposed by highlighting a hierarchical structure among the various elements which characterizes it.
