International audienceWith a larger urban population than the United States of America in 2012, India presents an urban organisation that is becoming more complex. A previous study showed us the nationally stabilized and the regionally unbalanced situation of the Indian urban system. These Indian urban subsystems show signs of urban primacy or urban macrocephaly (Querci J., 2011). Thus, this situation highlights the complexity of the multiscalar organisation within the system and gives its complex nature to the system. This systemic organization involves, over time, an evolution of the urban logics causing an evolution of towns and cities dynamics.
