International audienceEven if Colin MacLaurin is more known for his formulae or for his major book, the Treatise of Fluxions, he is above all a geometer. Indeed, his first mathematical production is completely turned towards geometry, in particularly, the Geometria Organica published in 1720 and the De Linearum Geometricarum Proprietatius Generalibus Tractatus which his writing started in 1721 and posthumously published in 1748. The aim of this paper is to focus on the second one and to show how MacLaurin examines Newton’s Enumeratio, how he uses this in his own scientific production and finally how he goes beyond what Newton’s done.
