Gherasim Luca et ses fleurs du mal

International audienceIn his works Le Vampire passif, L’inventeur de l’amour, La Mort morte ou La Proie s’ombre, Gherasim Luca constructs a literary garden in which bloom a crowd of flowers from the daisy to the carnivorous plant. Putting aside the bucolic aspect of the blossoming and the traditional image of the woman-flower, we can place Gherasim Luca right next to Baudelaire and his Flowers of Evil. On one hand, we can observe the women as they change into poisonous flowers, deadly and invisible to the common eye. On the other hand, the poetical stutter gives birth to linguistic-flowers materialized through the rolling of the tongue. Nonetheless, even though the baudelairian reminiscences are within reach, Gherasim Luca’s poetry manages to synthesize unconventional images that reinvent the floral theme. The flowers, both in image and in language, serve as a fertilizer for Death, which the poet nourishes through his writing. Mais, laissant de côté le bucolique de la floraison et les images traditionnelles de femmes-fleurs, Gherasim Luca s’inscrit d’emblée dans la lignée des Fleurs du Mal de Baudelaire. D’une part, les femmes deviennent de grandes fleurs vénériennes, mortifères et invisibles aux yeux du commun. D’autres part, le bégaiement poétique engendre des fleurs de langage par le roulement de la langue. Cependant, mêmes si ces résurgences baudelairiennes sont palpables, la poésie de Gherasim Luca effectue une synthèse d’images insolites qui renouvelle le motif floral. Les fleurs (images et langage) nourrissent la Mort que le poète entretient par sa poésie. Ainsi nourrie, cette succube érotique devient espoir d’une autre vie au sein de l’immuable
