We consider a flow matrice where the (1,…,i ,… k) rows and the (1, …,j ,…, p) columns are respectively origin and destination place linked by a flow values (Fij). Mapping flow aims to project values on a map depicting generally a geographic space, using linear and punctual features. When the matrice is dense, this well known approach leads theoretical and methodological difficulties, graphics constraints, technical and technological challenges that must be addressed in order to solve the graphic complexity that appears: the so-called spaghetti effect.
