Localisation et perception : l'observateur invisible omniprésent

International audienceThe article examines how the text La Jalousie is based on the staging of an invisible observer. This observer-narrator is the source of a “raw” perception reporting that makes the text a juxtaposition of pictures. These pictures are sometimes a reflection of the world in which the observer is present, sometimes the reflection of his inner world (pure constructions from his mind struggling with anxiety, memories, dreams and hallucinations). However, no indication in the text identifies the ideal nature of these perceptions. It is only the permanent observing activity which makes the successive sentences a coherent whole. The reader must be aware of changes of direction of the gaze of the observer because these changes actually are the only cues available to link sentences and parts together.The first part of the article describes the general mechanisms of this writing based on perception and therefore on the inclusion of the observer in the world or rather in the space that it describes. The second part further explores the repetition processes which, if one pays attention, provide additional clues for reconstructing some elements of a temporality within the apparent perpetual present of the hic et nunc perception.L’article examine comment le texte de La jalousie est sous-tendu par la mise en scène d’un observateur invisible. Cet observateur-narrateur est la source d’un compte-rendu de perception ‘brut’ qui fait du texte une juxtaposition de tableaux. Ces tableaux sont tantôt le reflet du monde dans lequel l’observateur est présent, tantôt le reflet de son monde intérieur (pures constructions de son esprit aux prises avec l’angoisse, le souvenir, le rêve et l’hallucination). Aucun indice dans le texte ne permet cependant d’identifier la nature rêvée au non de ces perceptions. Ce n’est que la continuité de son regard qui assure la cohérence du texte et les changements de direction de son regard (que le lecteur doit inférer) sont le seul fil qui permet d’enchaîner les phrases et de relier les plans d’une façon cohérente.La première partie de l’article décrit les mécanismes généraux de cette écriture fondées sur la perception et donc sur l’inscription de l’observateur dans le monde, dans l’espace qu’il décrit. La deuxième partie explore plus avant les processus de répétitions qui, si on y prête attention, permettent de reconstruire une ébauche de temporalité dans le présent perpétuel de la perception hic et nunc
