International audienceIn a semiotic-discursive perspective, this paper aims to understand the discursive and symbolic issues of the name " banderiste " in Russian public discourses on the Ukrainian crisis of 2013-2014. The corpus includes articles and news reports by the TV channel Pervyi kanal and the daily newspaper Izvestia and a public opinion poll conducted by the Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion. The use of the same identity name to describe various actors activates discursive memory of media readers and facilitates the construction of the media narrative of the crisis.
