National audienceWhen an inheritance or a divorce takes place, the goods that compose the heritage or patrimony are split between heirs or ex-spouses. This sharing process is seldom endorsed by the judiciary. It most often is carried out in French notary (« notaire ») and attorney offices, according to civil and tax law. What are the effects on families and on power relations within each family of this undisclosed sharing process, which takes place behind closed doors ?
