La CGT et la répression antisyndicale (août 1939 - décembre 1940). Entre légalisme et apprentissage de la clandestinité

International audienceStarting War of France in the summer of 1939 was accompanied by a restriction of freedoms and banning the Communist Party, following the signing of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact on August 23, 1939. At the union level, this policy results excluding communist unionists and the dissolution of more than 600 unions. Until the fall of the Republic, the union action is divided between a legal unionism and forced into hiding unionism. The advent of the Etat Français will complete reconfiguring the social landscape. Indeed, after the dissolution of all union centers by Vichy, a final split occurs among legal union between those who agree to cooperate with the new regime and those who refuse and join activists into underground movement.L’entrée en guerre de la France, à l’été 1939, s’accompagne d’une restriction des libertés et de l’interdiction du Parti communiste, suite à la signature du pacte germano-soviétique. Au niveau syndical, cette politique aboutit à l’exclusion des syndiqués suspectés de communisme et à la dissolution de plus de 600 syndicats. Jusqu’à la chute de la République, l’action syndicale se partagera alors entre un syndicalisme légal mais inefficient et un syndicalisme contraint à la clandestinité. C’est l’avènement de l’Etat français qui achèvera de reconfigurer le paysage social. En effet, après la dissolution par Vichy des organisations syndicales, une dernière scission s’opère parmi les syndicalistes légaux, entre ceux qui accepteront de collaborer avec le nouveau régime et ceux qui s’y refuseront et rejoindront les militants passés dans la clandestinité un an plus tôt
