International audienceExcavations undertaken at Bordeaux on the banks of the Garonne from the beginning of the 2000s have led to the discovery of wooden fittings most probably corresponding to the lower sections of winestores registered in notary records from the end of the 13th century until to 15th century. The majority of these elements, that is some 100 pieces, have turned to be re-used fragments of boats. The study, the results of which are presented here, has, despite an inablity to identify the types of vessel, allowed for a definition of three construction techniques: clinker built, with dovetail jointing, and in the style of the courpets of the Haut Dordogne.
