Alternate Herstories: Filipinas\u27 stories of Exploitation, Exportation and Resistance.

My research will focus on documenting and analyzing the resistance and organizing of former Filipina Comfort Women. While researching the events surrounding the wartime violations of these women by Japanese army, I will also have the opportunity to conduct interviews with these former comfort women. I will contrast and compare these personal narratives with the scarce historical representations of these women\u27s stories. Working with GABRIELA-Philippines, as well as the 250 organizations that it cooperates with, I will be able to both assist and critique the work that these organizations are doing to gain redress for former comfort women. She will also attend the Women\u27s International Solidarity Affair in the Philippines where the issues of international organizing around both the Comfort Women and current Trafficking issues will be discussed
