Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits sexual harassment that creates a hostile work environment because of an employee\u27s sex. For an actionable Title VII claim, the harassment must be unwelcome and sufficiently severe or pervasive to alter the terms, conditions, or privileges of the plaintiff s employment from both objective and subjective perspectives. An employer\u27s liability for the hostile work environment depends on the identity of the harasser or harassers.
