This is a story about the Constitution that begins with some rather shocking facts: The parchment that all of us-practitioners, judges, scholars- have been using for the last century as the definitive copy of the supreme law of the land, is not. The handwritten, handsigned document enshrined in the National Archives and reprinted everywhere was never ratified by We the People of the United States.
