In the presence of sulfaguanidine, a triangular pyramid growth form changes successively to a layer type of growth which transforms to ridges and then to a polycryst. deposit on a (100) single-crystal Cu substrate. On a polycryst. Cu surface the grain size of the deposit is affected markedly by sulfaguanidine. The change in the growth form and overvoltage are explained with the help of IR and x-ray techniques
