Metapelite forms an important component of the high grade supracrustal sequence in Southern Karnataka. The PT conditions of metamorphism indicate 600-700°C and pressures of 4 to 5.5 kb. Geochemical data indicate a heterogenous source dominated by felsic rocks. -from Author
