One hundred and ninety seven steel single angles loaded through two bolts in one leg were tested for their compressive strengths. They included five different sizes (76 x 51 x 6.4, 127 x 76 x 6.4, 64 x 64 x 6.4, 64 x 64 x 4.8, and 76 x 76 x 6.4 mm) and slenderness ratios varying from 69 to 201. The gauge distances were varied from the minimum to the maximum possible value for each size of angle. The effect of the connection type (snug tight and pretensioned) was also investigated. The effect of the width of the connected leg (long leg connected versus long leg out) was studied.
