This study explores the cultural conflicts experienced by Chinese international students in the University of Windsor. By interviewing fifteen Chinese international graduate students from different departments, this ethnographic study examines the cultural conflicts Chinese international graduate students confronted within their Canadian university experience. It was found that cultural conflicts play an important role for Chinese international students, both positive and negative, in achieving academic success. This study also discusses the communicative and interactive strategies Chinese international students use to adapt to a Canadian university.
