China\u27s TV news programming has three unique features: (1) it is the most tightly controlled medium; (2) it is an one-voice medium--one billion people can only receive news program from the same one channel and no one has any other choice; and (3) it is also the most effective medium wielded by the regime of that country. These unique features, along with the nation\u27s politics, system and ideology, therefore, have made the situation of China\u27s TV news programming in the past thirty years quite complex.
