This thesis seeks to provide a clearer conceptualization of the relationship between ideology and propaganda and it moves beyond the respective claims made by authors such as Ellul and Selucky by arguing for an understanding of the interrelationship as something dialectically entwined. Based on extensive exploration of the theories of ideology and of Ellul\u27s propaganda analysis, the researcher contends that propaganda and ideology consistently manifest a dialectical interrelationship such that a mutuality or interdependence obtains between these two social forces.
