Using data to improve student outcomes is a collaborative podcast between Radio Higher Ed and the Postsecondary National Policy Institute (PNPI). The focus of this podcast is how data can be used to assure quality within institutions of higher education. Timothy Renick discusses how Georgia State University has used data to improve outcomes for students. Renick discusses the short-comings of current data systems and how using localized student data can yield predictive analytics and greater student responsiveness. The podcast includes a separate segment with David Bergeron, a former policy maker. Bergeron discusses the different types of data needed for policy makers, institutions, and students. Bergeron also discusses his belief that the current accreditation systems for higher education are broken.
